True North is a spectacular layout carved through Michigan’s legendary north woods designed by award-winning golf course architect, Jim Engh. The course is stunning as it flows through the corridors of Northern Michigan’s native forest and wildlife, with exhilarating elevations, bent-grass fairways and greens. It’s on par with the top courses in the country and is simply an outstanding golf environment. Since it’s opening True North has received a host of regional and national awards, including being ranked along with the best in the state of Michigan by Golf Digest Magazine.
From the first tee to the eighteenth green the course provides a special golf experience. There is one incredible golf hole after another on the spectacular design, with tournament level conditioning that includes finely manicured bent grass fairways and tees, and some of the truest putting surfaces you will find anywhere. The greens are large with gentle undulations and the mounds, bunkers and water hazards that form the green complexes create a need for a variety of approaches and thoughtful shot selection.
From the Championship Tees, the course measures over 7,000 yards and challenges the elite golfer. However, there are several sets of tees to accommodate golfers of varying levels providing a “true” and special golf experience for all. The course combines the serenity of the property with golf at the highest level enabling members and guests to rediscover their inner compass at True North.
